I know, I know. My last entry was October 24...two weeks ago. I've been busy, ok?
Let's start this entry with Halloween talk. Good ol' All Hallow's Eve. October 31. I normally have fun at Halloween, but this year has topped all of my previous Halloweens, and it will be pretty hard to beat. The gang and I went as the Flintstones, it was pretty fantastic. Here's the break down:
Chris & Jacqueline- Fred and Wilma
Allison- Pebbles
Cristen and I- Barney and Betty Rubble
Freddie---suppose to be Bam Bam, decided to go as a tree. Lame. (actually, pretty funny, but still.)
Courtney- Dino. The best purple dinosaur ever.
and, while not part of our original cast of characters, the loveable Yushi was a tiger. So we can say that that some how fits into the caveman clique.
The evening started with dinner and some pregamming, and a photoshoot. After a few 100 pictures, we were off to Wind street and the real party began. First stop: Yates. It was busy, but we had a blast. Alex was buying Jager for everyone, so you know how it went. After an hour, maybe a little less, we were off and running (or in Cristen and Freddie's case, piggy back riding) to Revolution. This is where we really let loose...seriously the best night out since we came to Swansea (agreed by most). The whole night was spent dancing, laughing, celebrating. I may have gotten asked to stop dancing on the table..but hey. It just felt natural.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4XjmDqG48A&ob=av3e this is what was playing at the time. How can you NOT table dance to this song? I mean come on. It practically screams "jump on the booth and drop it low". Maybe I'm the only one that heard that, but I wasn't alone up there. We were having such a great night that Adam had to walk around and remind all of us that it was 2:30 am, and we all had to leave. Even though I knew that I had a class start in 5 hours, it was a bummer to say the least. It was probably the most fun I have ever had in a club ever. (Oh, and it was Philippe's birthday as well, only a select few of you will understand this, so props to you)
Then, only 3 days later, we were off to Amsterdam for the weekend. We left on November 3 at 7pm..and 14 hours later our bus arrived in Amsterdam. It was a long bus ride, but it wasn't as bad as we had thought it was going to be. Sadly, we never got to build a fort, make paper mache crafts or learn the dance moves to Kris Kross. But at any rate, it was fabulous. On Friday, we wandered around town, sightseeing, eating at an awesome Irish pub "The Hole in the Wall" and touring the Red Light District. Saturday we awoke bright and early (7:30 am!) and went to breakfast. Afterwards, we ventured to the Anne Frank House...so moving. It was crazy to see her actual house...the markings on the walls showing how tall her and Margo grew...her pictures glued to the walls..so surreal. It was a wonderful experience, and I know I would have regretted not going to see it. After, we went to a cafe for lunch, then on a canal tour of the city. The tour lasted 1 and a half hours, and we probably slept for 30 minutes of it. After a nap, we went to an Italian restaurant, then walked aroung the gorgeous city at night.
We tragically departed Amsterdam at 9:45 am. Along the way, we stopped at a chocolate shop in Belgium (DIVINE) and crossed from Calais, France over to Dover, England, where we saw the magnificant and magical white cliffs.Love.Love.Love.
Another weekend trip come and gone...different from the rest, but wonderful and exciting nonetheless. I know I am going to sound emotional, but I'm really going to miss you Swansea family. Love you guys. X
